Rin Azuma from Isekai Cheat Magician looks on with steely determination.

A new key visual and the Japanese broadcast schedule have been revealed for Isekai Cheat Magician, an upcoming TV anime based on the series of fantasy light novels written by Takeru Uchida and illustrated by Nardack about a pair of high school students who assume phenomenal magical and martial might when they are summoned to another world.


The story of Isekai Cheat Magician follows two ordinary high school students, Taichi Nishimura and Rin Azuma, who are transported to a parallel world of sword and sorcery after being enveloped by a mysterious light. Taichi and Rin soon realize that they both possess overwhelming magical power and physical abilities for some unknown reason, and so they begin their adventures as the world's strongest "Cheat Magicians".

The main cast of Isekai Cheat Magician wield tremendous martial and magical power.

Isekai Cheat Magician is directed by Daisuke Chikushi and features animation production by Encourage Films. The series will broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:

  • AT-X: every Wednesday during the 22:00 time slot beginning on July 10, 2019.
  • Tokyo MX: every Wednesday during the 25:35 time slot beginning on July 10, 2019.
  • KBS Kyoto: every Wednesday during the 25:35 time slot beginning on July 10, 2019.
  • TV Aichi: every Thursday during the 26:05 time slot beginning on July 11, 2019.
  • Sun TV: every Wednesday during the 26:00 time slot beginning on July 10, 2019.
  • BS11: every Friday during the 25:00 time slot beginning on July 12, 2019.

Please note that some Japanese broadcast schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, so for example the 25:35 time slot on Wednesday evening is actually at 1:35 AM JST on Thursday morning.

A dramatic new trailer has been released for Vinland Saga, an upcoming TV anime based on the seinen manga by Makoto Yukimura that weaves a tale of revenge and redemption during the era of the Vikings. The new trailer (below) highlights the opening theme for the series, "MUKANJYO", which is performed by Survive Said The Prophet.


The original Vinland Saga manga is serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon seinen manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from Kodansha Comics, who describe the story as follows:

As a child, Thorfinn sat at the feet of the great Leif Ericson and thrilled to wild tales of a land far to the west. But his youthful fantasies were shattered by a mercenary raid. Raised by the Vikings who murdered his family, Thorfinn became a terrifying warrior, forever seeking to kill the band’s leader, Askeladd, and avenge his father. Sustaining Thorfinn through his ordeal are his pride in his family and his dreams of a fertile westward land, a land without war or slavery … the land Leif called Vinland.

The Vinland Saga TV anime is directed by Shuhei Yabuta and features animation production by Wit Studio. The series will broadcast in Japan on the NHK network beginning on July 07, 2019, and Vinland Saga will also be streamed in Japan and in other world markets on Amazon Prime Video.

Viking Warriors Clash in Vinland Saga TV Anime Trailer

Hank, the protagonist of To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts, ralleys his fellow Incarnate Soldiers with a speech.

A new preview video (below), a new key visual (below), new cast members, and the Japanese broadcast schedule have all been revealed for To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts (known in Japan as Katsute Kami Datta Kemono-tachi e), an upcoming TV anime based on the dark fantasy manga by MAYBE about a group of soldiers with monstrous abilities that are trying to make their way in a world that no longer needs them.

The new cast members for To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts include: Kōki Uchiyama, Tomokazu Sugita, Tatsuhisa Suzuki, Shinnosuke Tachibana, Kenjiro Tsuda, Saori Hayami, Daisuke Hirakawa, Jun Fukuyama, and Hiroki Yasumoto. The specific roles for each new cast member have not yet been revealed, although it is known that they will provide the voices for Incarnate Soldiers.


The original To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts manga is serialized in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine, and an English language version is also published by Vertical, Inc.. Crunchyroll describes the story of To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts as follows:

The democratic nation of Patria was created on the continent of Patria.

Because of economical disputes, the country split north and south, creating the Northern Union of Patria and the Southern Confederation of Patria and they waged a long civil war. With their numbers dwindling, the North decides to use forbidden technology in order to defeat the South. This technology turns humans into monster-like soldiers, giving them almost godlike powers. And with those powers, the long war came to an end and peace was restored.

Incarnates. They were the heroes who saved the country and were regarded as gods.

Time had passed, leaving the war behind. The people who had given up their human forms to become Incarnates were now feared by the masses due to their overwhelming power and were now called Beasts.

The former captain of the Incarnate squad, Hank, was on a journey to find his former Incarnate comrades who had turned into Beasts and was hunting them down as the Beast Hunter. A young woman named Schaal was on a journey to find the person who killed her Incarnate father. She encounters Hank and decides to go on a journey with him to discover the truth behind her father’s death. She eventually finds out that the battle is never truly over, and the existence of the man Hank is looking for who is apparently responsible for letting the Beasts loose into the world.

Where does Hank’s path lead him, as he bears the sins for killing his own comrades? 

The main cast of To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts leaps into action.

The To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts TV anime is directed by Jun Shishido and features animation production by MAPPA. The series will be available via streaming on Crunchyroll, and it will also broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:

  • Tokyo MX: every Monday during the 23:00 time slot beginning on July 01, 2019.
  • BS11: every Monday during the 23:300 time slot beginning on July 01, 2019.
  • MBS (Mainichi Broadcasting System): every Tuesday during the 27:30 time slot beginning on July 02, 2019.
  • Fuji on Demand: every Monday during the 23:00 time slot beginning on July 01, 2019.

Soldiers Fight for Their Humanity in To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts TV Anime Trailer

Two of the highly-anticipated TV anime in this summer will come together. It is confirmed today that the forthcoming TV anime Magical Sempai and Are You Lost? are set to premiere on TOKYO MX, MBS, and BS Nittele on July 2, 2019, and that both will be produced as a 15-minute show. In addition, an advance screening event for the first three episodes of both anime will be held together in the Tokyo Gekijo theater on June 29, 2019.

Crunchyroll already announced at its panel at Anime Central on May 17 that it will stream the two this July. Don't miss it!

The TV anime adaptation of Azu's short gag manga Tejina Senpai/Magical Sempai is produced by Liden Films (LOST SONGAs Miss Beelzebub Likes). Fumiaki Usui, who worked as an episode director
for Love Live! and assistant director for Boarding School Juliet, makes his series directorial debut.
